What is screen printing?

Screen printing is a printing technique where a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil.  The possibilities with screen printing are endless, and also very fun to do. For each color to be printed a separate screen is prepared and the process is repeated. Watch the video below to see how it works.

Why do I use the screen printing technique?

It was a bit of a bumpy ride to find a good printer with the quality I was aiming for and the right price. Two eight nine design is a business that stands for graphic design, illustration and a whole lot of creativity. So you can probably imagine that I’ve liked to paint and use my hand my entire life. So why not start a screen printing business myself? How screen printing can sound very simpel to do, it was quiet the challenge to learn the tricks of screen printing. But now after a long and challenging road I think I can say, I CAN screen print!
